Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the terms and supplies its result. Van Zandt County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be kept long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server logs may collect technical details when a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to support site functions and show aggregate use patterns. Analytics providers may help measure popular pages, navigation, and exits. Browser controls can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, securing, and improving site performance
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and service problems
- Displaying advertising, including interest-based ads where permitted
No Court-Record Data on File
Van Zandt County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court cases or personal case information. It explains how to reach the 294th District Court, the District Clerk, County Clerk, lower courts, and re:SearchTX. Visitor data is not assembled into third-party dossiers or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted to them. Review the displayed provider terms before running a query because this policy does not control that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Van Zandt County offices, Texas courts, legal resources, or private search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across sites and select ads. Their systems govern that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee complete security, so loss, misuse, or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor may be removed when a valid request is received.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law that applies to the visitor and the data. The Texas Public Information Act concerns access to general government records, not a blanket privacy right against this private site. Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 and other court rules govern judicial and case-record access. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as services or legal duties change. A new version becomes available here with its updated effective date.
